News from Unst Heritage Centre

May 25th 2010

The Summer 2010 exhibition in Unst Heritage Centre features drawings of all the vod houses in Unst. The drawings detail the generations of folk who lived in the houses.  This should be of interest to locals and ‘hamefarers’.

Also highlighted is a display of ‘Items Sent Home’ including a wedding outfit made from silk sent home in the first world war.

There is also a small display about the life of A.T. Cluness, a weel kent Unst man.

Interested in walks? Please ask about our new Heritage Walks. The first – ‘A Gutter Lasses Walk’ is along Baltasound shore, the second – ‘A Walk Along the Hill Dyke’ is at Hannigarth, Uyeasound.
